Engineering Portfolio
As part of the ES120 Bridge Building Competition, our team engineered a high-performance arch bridge
constructed from plywood, spanning 12 inches with a 2 inch height, adhering to a 6:1 span-to-depth ratio
to prevent buckling and minimize deflection. On the Instron, our bridge achieved a 1250:1 strength-to-weight ratio,
supporting 250 kgf at only 0.2 kg and complied with strict spatial constraints!
Our team designed and built a compact robot with a gear-train forklift and claw combo,
all fully 3D CAD-modeled in SolidWorks and created entirely from scratch using the lathe,
CNC mill, 3D-printer, laser cutter, horizontal and vertical bandsaws, drill press, and a motor
dissected from an electronic screwdriver.
The Glow Grid is an interactive game that combines Dance Dance Revolution and Whack-a-Mole,
designed to test players' reaction times while encouraging movement and fun.
The project features a wooden frame containing hand-made pressure-sensitive dance tiles connected to LED strips.
During Conflux Winter Residency, I worked with another fellow to create an immerisve experience
featuring a parasitic tree! I led the hardware aspect while they led
the VR experience (both of us created the physical tree out of recycled materials).
BlackBox Gallery is a project I co-founded for my club Conflux (Art Tech). We wanted to create
a showcase room that could be altered however wanted by student artists. It ended up being a 16 x 12 x 10 ft room.
